Governor Quinn Honors Michael Howard as 2009 Environmental Hero
On December 29th, Governor Pat Quinn awarded Michael Howard with a 2009 Environmental Hero Award for his work with Eden Place Nature Center to improve and protect the environment. Howard is one of 22 individuals and groups from throughout Illinois to receive the annual award in recognition of a strong commitment to the health and protection of the environment in Illinois. "This year's honorees are Illinois' true environmental heroes," said Governor Quinn. "I am proud to salute them for their work to make the Land of Lincoln a cleaner, greener and better place for everyone."
