Community Supported Agriculture
About Our CSA Program
COMMUNITY SUPPORTED AGRICULTURE is a collaboration between community members and farmers. When individuals or organizations purchase shares in Eden Place Farms, shareholders receive weekly allotments of the wholesome organic food that we produce. Your one time investment supports a truly sustainable agriculture system, with most of our food grown right in Fuller Park by local farmers.
Locally Grown. Eden Place Farms produce is grown in hoop houses and raised beds on properties owned and controlled by FPCD, as well as twenty-five city lots in Fuller Park that have been converted to urban agriculture use.
Creating Jobs. Every dollar invested in Eden Place Farms supports our agricultural training program in Fuller Park, where the unemployment rate is 46%. Our goal is to train and certify twenty burgeoning entrepreneurs in sustainable urban farming practices by 2015. Upon successful completion of the training program, graduates are eligible and qualified to start their own individual farm operations.
